It all started with a relatable problem: my own room was due for a major upgrade. I searched online for furniture and decorations to refresh the space, but that search quickly stalled. It took forever. Everything I found was either unaffordable or simply not beautiful enough.
Then I thought: if I can't buy it anywhere, I'll make it myself.
From sketch to my own room
I started working on my own design for an industrial wall unit. It had to be sturdy, high-quality, and easy to assemble. Not long after, I was sawing, sanding, and assembling.
The result was exactly what I was looking for. My room instantly brightened up. But the real success only began when friends and family came over. Everyone was super enthusiastic and asked where I had bought it. When I shortly after made a custom wall unit for a friend of mine and earned some money with it, it clicked. This was the start of myro-design.
Figuring everything out on your own
As a startup, you start from scratch. Building the website, creating content, and choosing the right direction. It was quite a challenge. Especially in the beginning, it's about finding your own niche as a company, but that's how I found my way.
At myro-design, we don't believe in mass production. I still personally select, cut, and process every piece of wood by hand for quality. Behind the scenes, I also had to figure everything out myself: from transport costs and customs regulations to the perfect packaging.
During testing, for example, we found that heavy metal and wood in the same box quickly lead to damage during shipping. That's why we now ship the metal and wood strictly separated from each other. It costs a bit more, but this way I am 100% sure that everything arrives scratch-free.
The dream
My goal with myro-design is simple: to make as many people and families happy with a beautiful piece of furniture that fits perfectly in their living room or bedroom. Design should be affordable, without having to search for hours for the right quality.
Nothing is cooler than seeing the result when a customer has assembled their own furniture. Because I constantly want to improve the products and the company, customer feedback is essential. This way, we build something more beautiful together.
